The Government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) will extend 200 million USD in loan to Cambodia from 2013 to 2016 to help improve its physical infrastructure.

Cambodian News Agency AKP on July 5 quoted a press release from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as saying that the Framework Arrangement Concerning Loans from Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) between the RoK and Cambodian Governments will be signed on July 10.

Signatories will be Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong and RoK Ambassador to Cambodia Kim Han-soo, said the press release.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will preside over the signing ceremony, it added.

The financial assistance will be used to rehabilitate National Roads No. 2, 22 and 48, develop Dautri Multipurpose Dam between Battambang and Pursat provinces, and improve rural roads on phase 2 in nine provinces including Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, and Takeo.-VNA
