RoK wishes to further ties with Vietnam: RoK FM

The Republic of Korea (RoK) wishes to further strengthen its relations with Vietnam on the basis of their strategic cooperation partnership, said RoK Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se.
The Republic of Korea (RoK) wishes to further strengthen its relationswith Vietnam on the basis of their strategic cooperationpartnership, said RoK Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se during talks withhis Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh.

Atthe talks on the sidelines of the fourth Mekong-RoK ministerial meetingin Seoul on July 29, both said they are delighted at the rapid andstrong development of bilateral ties, especially since the strategiccooperation partnership was set up in October 2009.

Minh, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, affirmed that Vietnamtreasures and wants to work together with the RoK to deepen theirrelations, for the interests of their people and for common prosperityin the region.

The two sides discussed measuresto effectively implement signed agreements, including increasingdelegation exchanges and promoting investment-trade cooperation andpeople-to-people exchange.

They also agreed tocoordinate closely at multilateral forums, for peace, stability,cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Minh proposed that the RoK side help to reduce the number ofVietnamese workers who do not return home after their work contractsexpire.

The two sides should work togethertowards the signing of an ordinary memorandum of understanding on a workpermit license programme for overseas workers, he added.-VNA

Vietnam, France boost economic and financial cooperation

Economic ties have continued to grow across trade, investment and development cooperation. Bilateral trade surpassed 5 billion USD in the first eight months of 2026, with Vietnam exporting 3.1 billion USD worth of goods to France and importing 1.9 billion USD worth of products from the European country.
