Quang Ngai (VNA) – The Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co. Ltd (Doosan Vina) shipped 12 modules weighing 1,746 tonnes in total to the Ruwais oil refinery of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 9.

The modules are part of the waste heat recovery unit helping the refinery in Abu Dhabi to save fuel and improve efficiency.

Le Thi Dieu Linh, head of the firm’s communications division, said among the 12 modules, the biggest is 32.75m long, over 12m wide and 27.7m high, while the smallest is 31m long, 6.5m wide and 11.7m high.

They are part of the waste heat recovery project that Doosan Vina and Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd signed in October 2018 and also part of a 10-year cooperation framework agreement they inked in June the same year.

Young Sang Yoon, head of the assembly division of Doosan Vina, said as these modules are the first of their kind the firm has produced, it encountered many difficulties. However, thanks to thorough preparations, efforts by its skilled workforce and strict monitoring by Samsung Engineering, the company completed the project on schedule and met quality requirements.

Located at the Dung Quat Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Ngai, Doosan Vina was established in November 2006 by the Republic of Korea-based Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and Doosan Engineering & Construction. It specialises in manufacturing heavy industrial equipment.-VNA
