Prabowo Subianto, former commander-in-chief of the Indonesian armed forces is running for the presidency with Hatta Rajassa, former coordinating minister for the economy, hoping to be his second-in-command. The candidates are supported by a coalition of four political parties led by the Great Indonesia Movement Party.

The second pair are Joko Widodo, presidential hopeful and former Jakarta governor, and Jusuf Kalla, a former vice president looking to return to the position. They are supported by a coalition of four parties headed by the Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle.

According to the National Election Commission (KPU), the Joko-Kalla pair have announced canvass funding worth 44.9 billion rupiah (3.81 million USD), including 42 billion rupiah for advertising and media.

Meanwhile, Prabowo and Hatta will spend 10 billion rupiah (843,000 USD) on the campaign.
