Vietnamese food exporters are standing a great chance to make inroads into the Russian market which is considered the largest European consumer of such items.

Trade Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow Pham Quang Niem said Russia has a great demand for all types of food products, from vegetable and fruit to meat and seafood.

Niem urged Vietnamese businesses to take initiative in seeking entry in the Russian market, adding that the Moscow Department of Industry and Trade recently held a working session with the Vietnamese Trade Office and expressed interest in made-in-Vietnam goods.

Meanwhile, Director General of the Volga-Viet company Duong Hai An suggested fruit and vegetable exporters pay attention to product quality, which is an important requirement of the Russian market.-VNA
