Hanoi (VNA) - The Russian Centre of Science and Culture is celebrating International Day of Human Space Flight and International Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics in Hanoi on April 12 with a free entry event.
Participants have a chance to learn more about international cosmology and the Russian Space Station.
Notably, the film The Age of Pioneers will be screened. The Russian historical drama directed by Dmitriy Kiselev focuses on cosmonaut Alexey Leonov, who served as a consultant for the film.
Additionally, an exhibition about Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, the first woman to have flown in space, will be held at the centre. She was selected from more than 400 applicants and five finalists to pilot Vostok 6 on June 16, 1963.
The Russian General Assembly in 2011 declared April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight “to celebrate each year at the international level the beginning of the space era for mankind, reaffirming the important contribution of space science and technology to achieving sustainable development goals and increasing the well-being of States and peoples, as well as ensuring the realisation of aspiration to maintain outer space for peaceful purposes.”-VNA
