The Moscow City Court has imprisoned four extremists for murdering foreign citizens, including a Vietnamese student.
At the trial on March 3, the court handed down 22 years in prison to one of the instigators Anton Vasilyev, who directly stabbed to death Vietnamese student Tang Quoc Binh on Jan. 12, 2009 in the centre of Moscow. The other three defendants received sentence terms ranging from 3 to 13 years.
In addition, they have to pay more than 1 million rubles (almost 30 million USD) in compensation to the victims’ families.
From Dec. 26, 2008 to January 19, 2009, the four defendants committed four murders of citizens from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea (RoK). They also conducted 11 attacks against foreigners in Moscow, including the beating and setting on fire two RoK girls on Jan. 3, 2009. The girls were fortunately saved./.
