Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has highlighted the significance
the free trade agreement (FTA) between the Eurasian Economic Union
(EAEU) and Vietnam, saying it paves the way for his country to access
the Southeast Asian market.
While speaking at the 17th World Congress of Russian Press on June 11 in Moscow, the PM stated that this is the first FTA between the EAEU and Vietnam.
The pact helps Russia and other EAEU member nations to deeply penetrate into the 600 million-strong market where he sees dynamic and promising development, he said.
Medvedev valued the role played by the two-day Congress, which gathers representatives from news and press agencies as well as television and broadcast stations using the Russian language from over 60 countries worldwide, including Vietnam.
Organised by the World Association of Russian Press (WARP), TASS News Agency (ITAR-TASS) and WARP Foundation for Cooperation with Russian-Language Media, the conference wrapped up later the same day.-VNA
