Russian upper house backs peaceful settlement of disputes

Vladimir Dzhabarov, the first deputy chairman of the council’s International Affairs Committee, made the statement during his talks with Special Envoy of the Vietnamese Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son in Moscow on June 26.

The two sides expressed their strong wish that all disputes will be solved through peaceful negotiations without using force, and on the basis of international law and the principle of non-intervention.

Son, who is Deputy Foreign Minister, spoke highly of measures taken by Russia to stabilise the situation in Ukraine, noting that the Russian Government’s efforts are to ensure the Ukrainian people’s interests.

He also affirmed that Vietnam attaches special importance to its comprehensive partnership with Russia, which is built on the friendship and mutual understanding between their people.

During the talks, host and guest also discussed measures to promote bilateral ties, especially in economics-trade-investment, oil and gas exploitation and security-defence.-VNA
