Thousands of objects belonging to Sa Huynh culture that dated from 2,500-3,000 years ago have been discovered during excavations carried out in the Ma Vuong Mound in Pho Thach commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province from June 17-July 4 this year.
Head of the archaeologists’ group Doan Ngoc Khoi said that his group also found porcelain Linga among earthen ports, vases and bowls and other porcelain and stone artefacts.
This is the second time porcelain Linga statue has been found in the Ma Vuong Mound with the first being in 1978, he added.
Excavation of an ancient Cham tower which was discovered for the first time in Krong Nang commune, Krong Pa district of the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai , was conducted in late June this year.
Different from other Cham towers, Bang Keng tower has a semi-submerge brick design which is 6.4m x 7.8m and has a 1.8m foundation./.
