Saboteur of national unity policy arrested

While searching his home, the police seized a number of documents with contents against the people’s administration and dividing the great national unity.

Earlier, on April 8, Gia Lai Police’s Investigation Agency issued a decision to start legal proceedings against Nguyen Cong Chinh for the charge of undermining the great national unity policy, pursuant to Article 87 of the Penal Code. Preliminarily, Chinh confessed to his criminal acts.

Nguyen Cong Chinh (alias Nguyen Thanh Long) was born in 1969 and is now a resident of Hoa Lu, in Pleiku city of Gia Lai province. Since 2003, Chinh has regularly granted interviews to foreign radio and newspapers and posted on the Internet contents to cause hostility, discrimination and sow divisions among all strata of people and the armed forces, the people’s administration, ethnic groups and religious followers.

Chinh has joined Nguyen Van Ly, Nguyen Van Dai, Le Thi Cong Nhan, Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and others to oppose the people’s administration, disseminate distorted information and incite and involve large-crowd complaints.

Gia Lai Police’s Investigation Agency has handed over documents on Chinh’s activities to Gia Lai Justice Department and the Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Science Institute for assessment.

Chinh made documents sowing divisions in the police force, local authorities and the masses, driving a wedge between Vietnam and other countries worldwide, with the aim of opposing the people’s administration and the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, they confirmed.

Chinh has increased his activities against the people’s administration despite local authorities persuading, educating reminding him of his legal violations on many occasions./.
