Thirteen credit institutions purchased all 15,000 taels of gold offered by the State Bank of Vietnam, at the cost of 35.37-35.42 million VND (1,684-1,686 USD) per tael on December 13.

Gold prices in both local and world markets have fallen slightly.

The Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) posted gold prices between 35.29-35.42 million VND (1,680-1,686 USD) on its website, while on the kitco.com trading floor, gold was selling at 1,224.7 USD per ounce, or 1,475 USD per tael.

Prices in Vietnam remained 211 USD higher per tael than global gold rates.

The bank has sold over 1,785 million taels of gold since its first auction in March.-VNA
