The funeral committee for General Vo Nguyen Giap on October 9 issued an announcement on the schedule for delegations to pay last tribute to the General at the National Morgue on October 12.
According to the announcement, the National Morgue will open to mourners from 7:30 hr to 21 hr on October 12.
In the morning, delegations of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, General Giap’s relatives and high-ranking Party and State leaders and former leaders will pay their respect.
Delegations of foreign leaders, Hanoi municipal Party Committee, Hanoi People’s Council, Hanoi People’s Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, the Ministries of Defence and Public Security, international organisations and diplomatic corps, and the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association will also take turns to pay tribute to General Giap to 12hr.
The time from 12 hr to 14 hr is reserved for delegations from cities and provinces, while delegations from ministries and central agencies and branches will have their turns between 14 hr to 15 hr.
Other delegations and individuals will be arranged to pay respect to the General from 15 hr to 21 hr.
Mourners can also pay tribute to the General at the headquarters of the provincial People’s Committee in General Giap’s home province of Quang Binh and the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City at the same time with those in Hanoi.
An information desk has been set up at General Giap’s house at 51B, Phan Dinh Phung street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi to provide information related to the funeral.-VNA
