Experts work at the Vietnam-Japan Training and Technology Transfer Centre, which focuses on robot industry and automation (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Science and Technology should raiseawareness of the sector’s importance and promote the role of enterprises in2019, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said at a conference to carry out the sector's tasks for 2019 in Hanoi on January 21.
The Deputy PMemphasised the importance of proper awareness of the role of science andtechnology for national development, saying that awareness of the importance of science and technology does not only mean moneyor investment capital, but also changes in policy to thoroughly solve thedifficulties in administrative procedures, financial mechanisms in scientificresearch.
The Deputy PM urged the ministry to have policies to encourage businesses tojoin science and technology activities by allocating funds smoothly andtransparently for enterprises and individuals.
When the tax and financial mechanisms are strong enough, the enterprises willtruly be the centre of the national innovation system so they can focus oninvestment in science and technology and human resource training, he stressed.
He asked the ministry to strengthen dialogues with enterprises and businessassociations to find solutions for obstacles.
He also proposed the ministry to coordinate with other ministries and its localdepartments, saying the ministry should discuss with the Ministry of Educationand Training to promote information technology in teaching programmes.
Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh emphasised that in 2019, theministry will help localities boost innovation and re-adjust national productsto complete the tasks in 2019.
In 2018, the Vietnam had nearly 8,400 international scientific publicationscompared to 6,202 in 2010. VNA
