HCM City (VNA) – A scientific forum for international students kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on April 7, drawing 100 students from Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Japan and Vietnam.

Together with official delegates, around 1,000 local students will join exchange activities during the forum.

The forum is divided into a plenary session and thematic discussions on innovation and scientific research, voluntary activities, start-up and employment, climate change and environmental protection, with leading experts at home and abroad taking part.

Experience in scientific research, start-up and voluntary activities is expected to be shared by both participating experts and students.

They will also exchange measures on how to protect the environment and to raise public awareness of climate change.

As part of the event, participants are scheduled to visit the city’s landmarks, scientific-technology centres and some relic sites.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Students’ Association – Ho Chi Minh City branch, Lam Dinh Thang, said that the event provides a venue for both domestic and regional students to share knowledge, especially in scientific research, thus helping step up Vietnamese students’ integration process.

The forum will last until April 10.-VNA
