According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in 2011, the country’s total seafood output reached 5.2 million tonnes, up 1.4 percent over last year.
The total aquaculture area increased by 2.5 percent to 1,093 ha.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has set a target of earning 6.5 billion USD from aquatic product exports in 2012, up 5 percent from this year./.
