Latin American countries are showcasing their diverse and similar cultures in 13 movie screenings at this year’s Latin American film week, Argentinean Ambassador to Vietnam Claudio Ricardo Gutierrez pointed out during the movie week’s opening ceremony on October 6.

According to the diplomat, the film week aims to bring Latin American cultures closer to the Vietnamese audience.

Vietnam’s movie-lovers can enjoy a series of films on Latin America at the Hanoi-based Cinematheque from October 6-11.

“To fool a thief”, a piece of work directed by the young Argentinean Ariel Winograd marked the film week’s opening, followed by a number of nationally and regionally awarded films.

All of the movies are screened with Vietnamese and English subtitles.

The film week is co-organised by the embassies of a number of Latin American countries, including Argentina, Cuba, Haiti and Venezuela./.
