Speaking at the event, Chairwoman ofthe Asian Association of Women’s Studies (AAWS) Grace Javier Alfonso called forproviding all possible support for women to contribute to society and removingbackward custom burdens on women towards achieving gender equality.
A highlight at the event is puttingforward projects devised by researchers from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the10 ASEAN member states via the Korea - ASEAN Cooperation Project (KACP) on Educationand Exchange Programme for Young Scholars in Women’s Studies, which will be oneof the priorities to narrow development gap between men and women towardsbuilding the ASEAN Community of justice.
The three-day seminar, co-hosted bythe Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Thang LongUniversity, will focus its discussions on Asian women’s civil rights,immigration, reproductive health, abortion, women trafficking, gender-basedviolence, activities for women’s rights, among others./.
