Hundreds of Vietnamese businesses and Vietnam-Russia joint ventures gathered at a seminar that took place in Moscow on Oct. 31 to seek ways to boost Vietnamese exports to Russia .

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son spoke highly of the initiative to hold the seminar, saying it is a good way to support Vietnamese people in Russia and promote Vietnam ’s trade in the country.

He highlighted the traditional friendship, mutual understanding and enhanced bilateral strategic partnership between the two countries as advantages for Vietnamese businesses in the Russian market.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Russia reached more than 2 billion USD in 2010. It is likely to rise to 3 billion USD in 2013 and 10 billion USD in 2020, the ambassador said.

He called on Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia to contribute more to developing the Vietnamese community in the European country.

The seminar was jointly held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and Hanoi-Moscow Trade Centre Investment Joint Stock Company (Incentra JSC). /.
