Hanoi (VNA) - A scientific conference featuring the ideology and foreign policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of China in the new context took place on October 27 in both in-person and virtual forms.

The event was held by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS).

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu said that the Vietnam-China friendship, nurtured by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Mao Zedong as well as generations of leaders of the two countries, has become a precious asset of the two peoples. Since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in 2008, the bilateral relationship has obtained many important achievements in various fields.

As the two countries are in an important stage of development, they have the need to maintain a peaceful and stable regional environment to serve the socialism building and development with their own characteristics, he said.

Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo emphasised that during their recent phone  talks, CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and CPC General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping reached an important common perception on orientations for strengthening trust and cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

He said that in the context of the rapidly changing international situation, predicting the global trends and accurately analyzing the world situation are urgent issues for the diplomatic sectors of Vietnam and China.

Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Pham Lan Dung noted that the conference offers an important opportunity for experts and scholars of the two sides to exchange measures to promote the development of each country as well as strengthen their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new situation./.
