A seminar on restructuring the financial monitoring systems in Vietnam took place on June 12 in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The State Committee for Financial Monitoring in conjunction with Germany’s Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Institute co-chaired the event, which saw the attendance of policy makers and economists from national and international organisations, including several ministries, the State Bank of Vietnam, the IMF, WB, ADB, UNDP, and JICA.

The agenda focused on issues relating to the restructuring of financial systems and financial monitoring systems in Vietnam and Germany’s experiences in the field as well as policy proposals for Vietnam. This is so the country can build a suitable financial monitoring system to help develop the financial markets.

The conference took place at the time when the general plan on economic restructuring, including financial market restructuring, has been submitted to the National Assembly.

It provided Vietnam ’s policy makers, economists and senior managers with useful information and suggestions on how to make important contributions to plans and proposals for the restructuring of the financial monitoring system in the country.-VNA
