HCM City (VNA) – A series of seminars on promoting tourism between Vietnam and major markets took place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, within the framework of the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2019.

At a seminar on Vietnam – Middle East tourism cooperation promotion, domestic and foreign experts discussed approaches to tourism markets while travel agencies had a chance to improve their skills and enrich knowledge.

During a similar event between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), participants discussed ways to enhance competitiveness and make breakthroughs in the RoK market between now and 2020.

Vietnamese and Russian stakeholders expressed their interest in tourism products, policies and demand in the two nations.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Quang Tung said tourism ties between Vietnam and Russia have kept growing over the past years.

Statistics showed that nearly 400,000 Russian tourists arrived in Vietnam in seven months of this year, up 6.3 percent annually.

Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development’s Federal Tourism Agency Konyushkov Alexey said Russia always considers Vietnam an important market, adding that both sides will work closely together in tourism and effectively tap the two countries’ advantages.

The organising board also held trade exchange activities within the framework of the events.-VNA
