Senior DPRK diplomat visits Indonesia

The President of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong-nam, arrived in Jakarta on May 13 for a four-day official visit to Indonesia.
The President of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong-nam, arrived in Jakarta on May 13 for a four-day official visit to Indonesia.

During his visit, Kim Yong-nam will hold talks with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and pay courtesy visits to Vice President Boediono and the Speakers of the People’s Consultative Assembly and House of Representatives.

This is the third visit Kim Yong-nam has made in the last decade. He first visited Indonesia in 2002 when he met with former Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, and then in 2005 for the Asia-Africa conference held in West Java province.

Indonesia and the DPRK have maintained a fine relationship since the first President of Indonesia Sukarno, and the DPRK’s Kim Il-sung.-VNA
