Lam Dong (VNA) – Da Lat University in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, has presented the honorary doctoral degree to Hwang Kyo Ahn, the Governor of Seoul, the capital city of the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Addressing a presentation ceremony on November 20 on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Principal of Da Lat University, recognised contributions that Hwang Kyo Ahn has made to the facility’s development over the past years.

Hwang’s efforts have also contributed to expanding cooperation between the university as well as Vietnam and the RoK, Hoa said.

Hwang, former Prime Minister and former Acting President of the RoK, showed his honour to receive the degree, saying that this is an encouragement for him to continue working for the growth of the university and boosting the Vietnam-RoK education and training partnership.

In 2015, when he was the Justice Minister of the RoK, Hwang supported Da Dat University to set up the RoK Law Centre. In June that year when he became the Prime Minister of the RoK, he continued assisting the university in education programmes and projects such as those to develop human resources in nuclear power, upgrade libratory equipment, strengthen science research, and set up museum and publish books on insects in Vietnam.
