"Shooting start" daisy livens up Hanoi ambience

Blooming over a long season, "shooting start", scientifically known as Thymophylla) with other common names of Dahlberg Daisy, Golden Fleece, Tiny Tim Bristle-Leaf Dyssodia, Bristleleaf, Pricklyleaf, Dogweed, is a bushy, much-branched, charming little annual plant. Its leaves are deeply divided and threadlike. Fields of daisies have become new attractions in Hanoi, with the beautiful blossoms in full swing as the temperature in the capital takes a downward turn at the beginning of winter. The flower is native to central Texas (the US) and northern Mexico. In Vietnam, it is found in tropical forests. With an average height of 15 – 30cm, the daisy has a drooping shape. The densely planted clusters of Dahlberg daisies create an eye-catching yellow flower carpet. On weekends, dozens of groups of visitors flock to the gardens.
