Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s People's Action Party (PAP) has ruled Singapore since its independence in 1965 and is expected to retain power for another term of five years with a strong majority after this election.
Earlier, PAP with 82 out of 84 seats in the parliament gained in the previous election, announced the list of candidates, including 24 new ones.
Some 2.35 million Singaporeans are eligible to vote in the election./.
