Singapore (VNA) - The 12th Malaysia-Singapore Joint Ministerial Committee Meeting for Iskandar Malaysia (JMCIM) convened in Singapore on March 8, marking 10 years of bilateral cooperation since the committee was established.

The meeting was co-chaired by Singaporean Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan, and Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Wahid Omar.

Both sides lauded progress in planning the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed railway project, with ongoing discussions on commerce, regulations, security and technicalities.

They welcomed the completion of the Request for Information (RFI) project's commercial model and procurement approach.

Meanwhile, participants discussed preparations to conclude a new pact and speed up its implementation.

Concerning the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, Malaysia confirmed that Bukit Chagar will be the terminus in Johor Bahru that links to Singapore's Woodlands North MRT Station.

Meanwhile, the committee said discussions involving other bilateral groups related to industrial cooperation, immigration, tourism and environment are also progressing well.-VNA
