Singapore will field 748 athletes at the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), the largest-ever contingent, the country’s National Olympic Council announced on May 5.
They will compete in all 36 sports in the hope of breaking their record of 50 gold medals set in the SEA Games of 1993, which was also held in the island country.
On the same day, the SEA Games Organising Committee announced a menu featuring about 120 dishes for athletes attending the region’s biggest games.
It has worked together with the Singapore Sports Institute and a team of industry experts for two years to develop a standardised menu with the aim of serving the athletes with nutritional foods.
The Games will be held from June 5-16, attracting more than 7,000 athletes and officials in 36 sports from 11 countries in the region.-VNA
