Securities Investors Association of Singapore (SIAS) will organise the first Asian Investment Conference and Exhibition 2009 (AICE 2009) in Singapore on July 18-19.

The event will allow listed companies and financial institutions in the region to address investors' concerns in a face-to-face manner, according to SIAS on Jun. 18.

AICE 2009 will also promote greater financial literacy among investors, which is especially crucial in view of the uncertain economic and investment climate, the organiser said.

SIAS president, David Gerald was quoted by NAM news network as saying that the current financial crisis had resulted in investors receiving mixed signals on the state of the global economy and the long-term health of their investments.

"Although a modest recovery has been under way since March, public opinion on its long-term sustainability remains deeply divided," he said, adding that the contradictory viewpoints had made it difficult for investors to make informed decisions on their investments./.
