Singaporean Prime Minister begins China visit

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong began a week-long official visit to China on August 25 at the invitation of China ’s Premier Li Keqiang.
Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong began a week-long official visit to China on August 25 at the invitation of China ’s Premier Li Keqiang.

Making his second China trip in a year, Prime Minister Lee will arrive in Beijing where he will call on President Xi Jinping and hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.

The Singaporean PM will then head to the western Xinjiang autonomous region where he will visit the cities of Urumqi, Shihezi and Kashgar for an update on local developments. After that, he will leave for the north-eastern province of Liaoning.

PM Lee will be accompanied by Acting Minister for Manpower and Senior Minister of State for National Development Tan Chuan-Jin and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and for National Development Lee Yi Shyan.-VNA
