Six men were arrested after being discovered transporting drugs hidden in a blue industrial gas cylinder from Van Ho District in northern Son La province to Hanoi, police said on July 26.

Nguyen Quoc Hung, a 32 year-old restaurant and karaoke bar owner in Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi, and the drug ring leader, together with Nguyen Hoang Quan, 28, Nghiem Quoc Dung, 30, Nguyen Van Tuyen, 44, Dam Viet Thang, 48, and Loc Minh Duc, 37, were nabbed near Phu Dong bridge, Gia Lam district, with a truck where the police found 170 packages of heroin.

The police also found two other gas cylinders filled with another 320 heroin packages alongside two K59 guns and bullets as they raided Hung’s three-floor rental house.

This is the largest drug seizure ever. The Drug Crime Investigation Department, known as C47, are further investigating the case.-VNA
