Police in the northern mountainous province of Son La on July 29 discovered the illegal transport of 20 cakes of heroin.

Trieu Thi Van, born in 1988, was caught carrying the drugs out of Moc Chau district. Van, who resides in Van Ho commune of the district, admitted that she was hired by Ban Thi Hoa to transport the heroin from the commune’s Pa Che 1 hamlet with pay of six million VND per cake.

Expanding the investigation, the police then arrested Hoa (born in 1969), Mua Thi Xin (1993) and Ly Thi Nguyet (1959) for illegally transporting and trafficking drugs.

The accused, all living in Moc Chau district, confessed that they had trafficked and transported about 60 cakes of heroin from Moc Chau to sell in lowland localities since early 2012.

The case is still under further investigation.-VNA
