Son La ready to ship strawberries abroad
First grown on Moc Chau plateau in the northern mountainous province of Son La ten years ago, strawberries have developed well around the local area and are ready to hit shelves in Singapore and Malaysia.
Five years ago, this field was filled with cassava and maize, which yielded low returns. Everything has changed since strawberries were first planted on an area of 8 hectares by the Moc Chau High-tech Strawberry Cooperative in 2018.
Since local orchards follow safe production requirements, Son La strawberries have won favour among customers and hit the shelves of major supermarkets such as Vinmart, Co.op Mart, and AEON.
The Son La Strawberry Association was set up in 2020, gathering farmers together and providing good planting skills.
The aroma of Son La strawberries has received a warm welcome from domestic consumers. Meeting safety standards and with great taste and fragrance, the fruit is certain to reach out to the world soon./.
