The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Vietnam held a banquet in Hanoi on April 27 to celebrate the country’s 18 th National Day.
When speaking at the event, Chargé d’Affaires Nontatu Skolo highlighted the recent developments in the relationship between both countries, with many senior level visits and more bilateral cooperation in various areas.
She said she hopes that the second South Africa-Vietnam Cooperation Forum, to he held in South Africa in August this year, will consolidate and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
Vietnam ’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son congratulated the South African people on the achievements they have made during their national development, turning the country into the driving force behind the continent’s economic development.
He said he believes that with more effort from both countries, Vietnamese South African multi-faceted cooperation will develop well in the future.
On the occasion, President Truong Tan Sang sent a message of congratulations to his South African counterpart, President Jacob Zuma.-VNA
