More than 200 Vietnamese and foreign enterprises are showcasing their products at an industry and trade fair of the Southeastern Economic Region which kicked off in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province, on April 17.

The event is co-organised by the Trade Promotion Department under the Minsitry of Industry and Trade and the provincial People’s Committee as part of the national trade promotion programme in 2014.

On display at some 600 booths are agro-forestry-fishery products, garments and footwear, electronic and technological equipment, and tourism and telecommunication services.

The expo, which will run until April 22, also features nearly 100 booths introducing economic achievements, advantages and potential of southeastern provinces.

Organisers said the event is expected to help businesses expand their markets and seek cooperation, thus driving the economic and trade development in the region and Vietnam as well.

During the fair, the southern industry and trade sector will hold its first conference.-VNA
