From January 29, a national wide rapid COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the Spring of the year 2022 will begin, as directed by the Primer Minister Phạm Minh Chính.

The health sector and localities have urgently prepared for this campaign with the spirit of working through the Tet holiday.

The forces will "go every lane, knock from house to house, check from person to person " to complete the goal of vaccination for all designated subjects.

The goal of vaccination has been clearly defined by the Government.

Accordingly, injection of the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 12 to 17 years old will be completed at the end of January

In the first quarter, injection of the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 18 years old and above, except for those with contraindications, will be completed.

Along with that, the authority will research, and prepare carefully, methodically, and cautiously for the task of vaccinating children from 5 to 11 years old.

In 2021, Vietnam made a miracle when it became one of the 6 countries with the highest vaccine coverage rate in the world.

Vietnam did this even though the country had a low and slow starting point when the COVID-19 vaccine is scarce globally and Vietnam has not been able to produce it domestically.

From where there were only about 300,000 doses of vaccine at the beginning of the fourth outbreak, Vietnam made it to 212 million doses.

According to the plan, the Spring vaccination campaign will be deployed on a nationwide scale.

The vaccination campaign has great significance in many ways.

First, the higher the vaccine coverage rate, the lower the risk of infection as well as the number of infected cases and the rate of serious illness and death.

Along with that, the vaccine coverage rate is a prerequisite so that, together with drugs and people's awareness, we can be confident and assured of safely reopening socio-economic activities soon./.
