Sports Minister keen on S African experience

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh held talks with high-profile officials in South Africa to learn experiences from a successful World Cup-2010 host during his visit from July 9-12.

During his meeting with Minister of Sport and RecreationMakhenkesi Stofile, Anh expressed wishes for stronger relations insports after congratulating South Africa for successfully hostingthe world’s biggest football event.

He invited theminister and a football team from South Africa to attend the Hanoimillennium anniversary in October.

Stofileassured Anh of South Africa’s willingness to share its rich experiencesin sports training and management, which have led to numerous highachievements, with Vietnam as it did with other African countries.

During his four-day stay, the Vietnamese ministeralso met with Minister of Arts and Culture Lulu Xingwana to discussmeasures for promoting bilateral relations in culture./.

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Vietnam’s National Assembly and Thailand’s House of Representatives, signed in 2023, Vietnam and Thailand agreed to continue exchanges of delegations at all levels, expand interactions between parliamentary friendship groups, especially the Vietnam–Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as among women and young parliamentarians, while maintaining close coordination at multilateral forums.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommended that Vietnamese nationals regularly follow alerts and instructions issued by the Israeli Home Front Command; install and use the official Home Front Command warning application; and immediately move to a safe room or shelter when air raid sirens sound. They should avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from areas considered unsafe or at risk of unsafety.
