An art troupe from Sri Lanka is scheduled to perform at the Cong Nhan Theatre in Hanoi on May 5.

Fourteen artists from the art troupe are going to perform traditional songs and dances of Sri Lanka such as the Naga Raksha dance featuring the image of the country’s Cobra snake demon, the Nalagana Vannama dance featuring the beauty of maidens and the Thelme dance honouring Pattini which is considered the goddess of fertility and health.

The event, held by the Performing Arts Organisation Centre under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to introduce Vietnamese people to the unique cultural identities of Sri Lanka and contribute to promoting cultural and arts exchanges between the two countries.-VNA
