The State Audit’s major targets for 2010 are to evaluate the efficiency of the Government’s economic stimulus packages, land management, tax policies, the use of insurance funds, as well as the issuance, management and spending of Government bonds and ODA projects.

State Audit Deputy General Director Le Minh Khai announced the targets at a conference in Hanoi on March 18.

He said this year’s auditing plan must assess the efficiency of the implementation of the National Assembly’s resolutions and the Government’s plans on urgent measures to prevent economic downturn and ensure social security.

In 2010, the State Audit will audit the accounts of 32 cities and provinces, 14 ministries and agencies and 10 socio-political and occupational organisations, he said, adding that 27 infrastructure projects in areas such as traffic, irrigation and electricity and four major programmes will be audited as well.

For businesses and financial and banking organisations, the audit will examine 28 units, including the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the Vietnam Garment & Textile Group (Vinatex) and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).

The Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will be audited on the implementation of student credit policies during the 2007-2009 period./.
