State President Truong Tan Sang on August 22 conferred ambassadorship titles to 63 Vietnamese diplomats at a ceremony to mark the 66 th founding anniversary of the diplomatic sector in Hanoi.

Addressing the ceremony, State leader Sang said that the conferment manifested the high appraisal of the Party and State for the diplomats’ contributions to external affairs and the national development cause.

He said that in the context of the country’s global integration and the existing complex situations in the region and the world, the ambassadors, who are pioneers on the diplomatic front, need to make efforts to successfully implement the diplomatic policy of the 11 th National Party Congress, contributing to the country’s industrialisation and modernisation cause and protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity while raising Vietnam’s position on international arena.

Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh pledged that the sector will focus its collective strength and brainpower on implementing priorities of the comprehensive diplomatic policy adopted by the 11 th National Party Congress, and will work closely with ministries, departments and sectors to fulfil the mission assigned by the Party, State and people, continuing to maintain a peaceful and stable environment and contributing to national construction and defence./.
