State President Nguyen Minh Triet received a delegation of the Netherlands-based FrieslandCampina Group, led by Chairman of supervisory board, Wantenaar Cornelis Hendrikus, in Hanoi on Sept. 14.

President Triet applauded FrieslandCampina’s cooperative ties with Vietnam in recent years, especially in milk production. He urged the group to transfer milk cow breeding techniques to local farmers and expand its operation to other fields.

The leader praised the group for its support for hunger eradication and poverty reduction as well as poor students in Vietnam.

President Triet also affirmed Vietnam’s wish to strengthen its multifaceted cooperation with the Netherlands, saying Vietnam is learning from the Dutch about how to respond to rising sea levels.

Chairman of Royal FrieslandCampina supervisory board, Wantenaar Cornelis Hendrikus thanked the Vietnamese Government for its favourable conditions for the company to do business in the country over the past 15 years.

With 130 years’ experience, FrieslandCampina is willing to cooperate with and transfer techniques to help Vietnam develop milk cow breeding, he said.

The executive said his group wants to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in other areas. He also promised to continue backing the country’s hunger elimination, poverty reduction and poor students./.
