President Nguyen Minh Triet delivered this statement at separate receptions following the presentation of credentials by newly-appointed ambassadors of India , Ranjit Rae; of Ukraine , Shovkoplias Oleksiy; of Chile , Fernando Urrutia; of Rwanda , Francois Xavier Ngarambe; and of El Salvador , Ruben Ignacio Rivas.

The State leader and the diplomats discussed bilateral relationships as well as the potential for greater cooperation, especially in the economy and areas of trade and investment.

President Triet requested the ambassadors work closely with concerned agencies of Vietnam to increase the exchange of visits at all levels in order to share development experiences and promote mutual understanding of the people, cultures, potential and strengths among the nations.

Vietnam ’s agencies would create favourable conditions for the diplomats to accomplish their tasks, thereby contributing to the development of relations between Vietnam and the five countries, he said.

The ambassadors promised to spare no efforts to fulfill their assignments and expressed their admiration for Vietnam ’s socio-economic achievements, particularly its successes in implementing the UN Millennium Development Goals./.
