During the suspension, about 43,000 visitors were strandedin Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, while more than 1,000 others were unableto leave Kien Hai’s islands.
Phu Quoc was chosen as one of the first destinations toreopen their doors to international visitors in an effort to recover thenational tourism industry.
The island city received an estimated 1.4 million visitorsin the first six months of this year, including 46,200 foreigners. Revenuesfrom tourism shot up 46% year on year to top 2.84 trillion VND (122 millionUSD)./.
