Students’ Assoc urged to be good environment

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung was speaking at the VSA’sninth National Congress held on December 29 in Hanoi, with theparticipation of 650 delegates representing their two million studentsacross the country.

Hailing its performance over the pasttime, NA Chairman Hung asked the association to intensify emulationmovements, promote students’ vanguard role and creativity whileproviding them with necessary support, he added.

At theevent, delegates defined main goals, focusing on the development of thestudents’ association so it is able to adapt to new conditions andoperation environment.

The congress adopted numerous documentsoutlining the association’s tasks for the new tenure and elected a99-member executive board.

Secretary of the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong was elected as the President ofthe association for the 2013-2018 tenure.

As asocio-political organisation with 22 chapters in cities and provincesnationwide, the VSA groups 47 centrally-run school-level chapters, andfive abroad in France, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Germanyand Belgium.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1
