The undersea international cable AAG (Asia Pacific Gateway) that connects Vietnam to the internet with other countries has been fixed one day earlier than scheduled, according to the AAG operating unit.

The cable operator said after welding was completed at 7:45 am on October 2, international channels have been completely restored.

On September 15, the AAG cable was broken at a site 64km from Hong Kong. This affected internet services in Vietnam, especially connections with other countries.

On September 30, the second break was reported 68km from the Hong Kong mainland station. The AAG is a 20,000km long submarine communications cable system connecting Southeast Asia with the US mainland, across the Pacific Ocean via Guam and Hawaii.-VNA
