Jakarta (VNA) – A suicide bomber attacked a police station in Solo city of Java island on July 5 morning, injuring a police officer.

A local police spokesperson said the same day, up to 1,200 police officers were dispatched to ensure safety at airports during the Idul Fitri holiday.

Budi Karya Sumadi, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II – a state enterprise of the Indonesian Department of Transport that is responsible for the management of airports, said security forces have been deployed at 13 airports in the country’s western region until July 17.

Safety measures are strengthened given three recent bloody terror attacks in Istanbul (Turkey), Dhaka (Bangladesh), and Baghdad (Iraq).-VNA
