As many as 200 young Vietnamese people abroad will return to the homeland to join in the Vietnam Summer Camp 2013 this month, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on July 3.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the COVA Nguyen Thanh Son, this year marks the 10th year of the annual Vietnam Summer Camp, which aims to provide young overseas Vietnamese with an opportunity to learn more about the nation’s origin, history and culture, thus enhancing their bonds to the homeland.
From July 11-30, the camp’s participants will participate in various activities across Vietnam, such as offering incense at the Hung Kings Temple in Phu Tho province, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, and having exchanges with young people in Ha Giang, Thanh Hoa provinces and Da Nang City.-VNA
