Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s Veterans Association and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children presented gifts to children at Trung Yen nursery school in the northern province of Tuyen Quang on March 22.
The donations of clothing, toys and study materials will help Trung Yen commune complete its universal access to education programme for 5-year-olds ahead of schedule.
The gifts are a great encouragement for the teachers and pupils in the disadvantaged commune, where 50 percent of households are classified as poor, to overcome difficulties and strive for better academic performance.
Trung Yen commune was VNA’s base from 1952-1954. With the whole-hearted support and protection of the commune’s residents, the VNA successfully completed its duties during the Vietnamese resistance war.-VNA
