Seven Vietnamese sailors who were rescued from the recently sunk
Republic of Korea (RoK) trawler “No. 1 In Sung” and the body of
another were brought to the port of Bluff in New Zealand ’s South
Island on Dec. 23 (local time).

The survivors are now in good health, said the Vietnam Embassy in New Zealand , adding that it sent officials to visit and help the sailors contact with families in the home country.
The embassy and concerned agencies of Vietnam have worked with New Zealand and RoK authorities to carry out necessary procedures to soon take the survived sailors and the body of the deceased back home.
The RoK’s maritime agency said it would continue with the investigations into the accident and report the next settlements for the missing.
In the early morning of Dec. 13, the RoK trawler “No. 1 In Sung” with 42 crew on board sank in Antarctic waters. Only 20 sailors were rescued, five others were confirmed dead and 17 are missing.
Of the 11 Vietnamese workers on board, seven were rescued, one is dead and three are missing./.
