In recent days, thousands of people in Hai Phong city have come to the banks of the Tam Bac River to watch swans.

Hai Phong and its Hong Bang district have designed a raft underneath the bridge as a shelter for the swans. The swans are fed with special food and inspected regularly.

Releasing swans to the Tam Bac River is a highlight of the city’s project on building a pedestrian street along the river, which is scheduled to be put into operation early next year.

The work is expected to improve the city’s tourism value.

When finished, the pedestrian street will be opened from 7pm to 11pm on every Friday, weekends and holidays.-VNA
